چکیده
• Spaces can be constructed by gluing simple things together. We constructed projective spaces, Klein bottles, and lens spaces that way. The simple pieces live in Rn, but the new objects usually don’t. (To be more precise, it is irrelevant and distracting to find an embedding of the new objects into Rn.) We introduced topological spaces and particularly the quotient topology so we could talk about the glued objects without worrying about embedding them in Rn.

متن کاملDetection of Clostridium difficile toxin with McCoy cell monolayers and cell suspensions and comparison with HeLa cell assay.
McCoy cell monolayers were compared with HeLa cell monolayers for the detection of Clostridium difficile toxin in 301 stool samples. Tests were positive (greater than or equal to 1/100 dilution) in 83 and 81 specimens tested with McCoy and HeLa cell monolayers, respectively. McCoy cell suspensions were compared with HeLa cell monolayers in 532 stool filtrates. Overall, 90 positive specimens wer...
متن کاملA Causal Loop Approach to the Study of Diagnostic Errors
Missed, wrong or delayed diagnosis has a direct effect on patient safety. Diagnostic errors have been discussed at length, however it still lacks a systematic approach. This study proposed a more systematic way of studying diagnostic errors by using a causal loop diagram. A systematic review was used to find the key factors which may cause diagnostic errors and their interrelationships. A causa...
